Truth about Sinhala New Year

There are some ideas, festivals, beliefs that came to our minds for centuries from one generation to the other. Sinhala New Year is something like that. This is something completely belongs to Tamil people. Then who introduced this to Sinhalese people? Do you know that there was a cruel invader called Kalinga Magha at the time of great Polonnaruwa era? He involved with killing Buddhist monks, destroying Buddhist temples, etc... He was the one who strictly instructed Sinhalase to start celebrating the Tamil New Year by force.

Since it is a Tamil festival, it is no problem to celebrate that by Sri Lankan Tamils. But Sinhalase must realise the truth and stop celebrating this Tamil festival.
