Bit font of Java apps rendering problem on windows mobile 6.
Earlier, i used a java english- tamil dictionary applet on my java based nokia 2600c phone. There were no problems of tamil bit fonts.
But on my new windows mobile ( I -Mate ultimate 8502/ windows mobile 6 professional) the bit fonts of above dictionary appear as little square shapes. Real font shape doesn't show.
But, this ppc model supported JAVA really.. I use few java apps on it .they are working charm..........
Is there a way to get this bit fonts appeared in real shape ? (it means render correctly....)
Are there any softwares to do it ?.
Kindly help me !. Because, it is very important to my studies !!!!!!!

It seems like this is a software bug in the said translator software. Seems like it doesn't tested on multiple platforms. You could try informing the software vendor to fix that for you.
Re: Bit font of Java apps rendering problem on windows mobile 6.

This problem is not only for English-Tamil dictionary but also dictionaries of other languages.
In all apps English fonts has not any problem. Bit fonts of other languages is the problem.
I don't think it is a bug of apps.Sometimes It may be a little problem of Java platform of my windows mobile.
I believe that sometime a piece of additional software will solve this problem.
Kindly help me !

I also think it must be a problem related to your platform (Windows Mobile). I already heard lots of J2ME incompatibilities with Windows Mobile. Most of them are sorted out by platform updates. Have you updated your phone to latest firmware. This is a bit risky but I found it is useful when it comes to these situations. Do it by your own risk.
In the other hand you could use applications that is written for Windows Mobile itself. .Net platform is the recommended development environment for Windows Mobile and I don't see J2ME plays a good role feature wise with .Net.
You could also try to write to one of the J2ME developers about the issue with information. Probably they must be knowing a solution.
Another good idea is to find a mobile specific forum. Try to find a forum dedicated to mobile devices. Those forums have experienced users and developers who can answer these questions easily.
You must understand that without the same device and applications, it is not possible for us to predict anything. Also I'm not too happy with Windows Mobile at the moment. Android is going to be the market leader and there are many new phones that comes with Android including Nokia. I have experienced a Samsung Galaxy recently and it is simply amazing. I guess it has better compatibility on Java as the user interfaces are written in Java whereas core in C++.

As Saman stated, it would be harder to answer this question without similar hardware. I was wondering why you did go for Windows Mobile at this stage since Android is dominating the mobile market now. Since it is open source, there are lots of guys around the globe who are willing to help each other.
Could you register on http://forums.wpcentral.com/ and submit your question. These guys have expereince in Windows Phones so you might get an answer from them.

Arunassmv is talking about English-Tamil Mobile Dictionary | ????????-?????.
There are two versions of it.
1.Tamil Supported version
2.Tamil Non-Supported version
Anyway Tamil Non-Supported version will surely work on your phone. Because Meanings displayed in English script.
If anyone want to register it for free, contact me.
