Don't know anything called BartPE. It must be a custom release?
Anyway, I introduced Virtual Box for something else for you. It is good for Windows-Linux combinations.
For Windows combinations, Virtual PC is the best. You will be able to see all drives with it.
Even with Virtual Box, you will be able to share the drives, etc... but it is a bit complicated. Search on google or search on their forum.

[Solved] Re: My Sony Combo Drive Problem
Hey Friends.
2 Days ago I fixed another system Fan to my PC case that Fan is a Normal Fan not Designed for Computer. Those Fans are used in AMPs and DVD players. I fixed a Fan which is same in Size as my other system fan.
when i fix it i thought "if i change my DVD drive's cable will it works
"
So what i did was after fixing the Fan, I removed the cable, The cable has two Connectors to set two Drives. And My Drive was fixed to the Top one which is Brown in Color. I removed it and Fixed the second one. Which is Light Blue in Color.
Is there anything that this colors mean? I mean
Brown = Master
Light Blue = Slave
I know We can Change Jumpers and then Make these drives to Master and Slave but I don't know about this colors. According to my Thought I think the colors are referred for Master and Slave am I correct? Nothing happen if we change the connectors if we have a one Drive and I think we must Ignore the Colors.
Oh. I forgot to tell about the Impotent thing.
And after changing the Connector. I assembled my PC together and Started my Works again. I completely forgot about the Drive.
But Today when I bathing Suddenly I remembered about the Drive.
After I bath I inserted a DVD+R disk. Hey Now DVD+Rs are working
That DVD is the same DVD that I used before to check.
Thanks Friend for Helps I learned so many things from you about my This Problem.
Thanks

Re: My Sony Combo Drive Problem
The colour of the cable doesn't matter at all. It just mark that it should be fixed to the side of power jack (according to my memory). If the cable has a jack in the middle as well, then all 3 jacks are all same. You can fix them in any combination. I couldn't suspect a cable failure since other disks worked perfectly. However master/slave could be the point that fixed your drive.
After all, It is good to hear that you made it working.

Re: My Sony Combo Drive Problem
I have only one Drive Connected that IDE cable.
My Hard Drive is a SATA one.
So There is no master and Slave that connected to same cable.
Any Way Newer Mind. Now My Problem is over.
Thanks for Helps Friends. Specially Neo.

Re: My Sony Combo Drive Problem
There are usually 3 settings in Parallel ATA standard (IDE drives). 1. Drive 0 (or Master), 2. Drive 1 (or Slave) and 3. Cable select. The only point is there can be only one drive that can exists as master in a one cable. That means, if one is already set as drive 0, the other drive must set as either drive 1 or cable select. Cable select is like an auto setting. If one is already exists as drive 0, that automatically select itself as drive 1. If one is set as drive 1, it automatically set itself as drive 0. In simple terms, two drives can't exist with the same setting on a single ATA cable. Also, the jacks of the cable can be used for any combination. Simply all jacks have the same wiring. So There is no master and Slave that connected to same cable.
When it comes to BIOS, it usually detects drive 0 first and then drive 1. Drive 0 has more priority over Drive 1 in terms of detection and drive assignment.
In my expereince, I have found drives which can't work together in any combination, which always need to exists as master, etc... However it is not theoretical to suspect the cable when your drive already worked for all other disks except DVR+R. There is no special pin I know that related to specific standard either.
So for me, the way your drive started to work is unexplainable

Re: My Sony Combo Drive Problem
1. Drive 0 (or Master), 2. Drive 1 (or Slave)
i think they mixed up the cabling
Master 0 is Hard-disk
Drive 1 - could be DVD drive or floppy
and Slave - could be second hard drive
i think he connect DVD drive to slave which i think wants to boot as hard disk
i think i had this problem long time ago when i built my own P3 pc it was nightmare with the LEDs

Re: My Sony Combo Drive Problem
I didn't fix it to that. When I repair my PC the Shop did it. I could repair it by my self but I took it to them because of the Warranty
