Hello.

I started learning Java again where I stopped last time. I was at page 146 of Java a beginner's guide book, But I was only able to read up to 149 then I got very sleepy and lazy. I tried to do get rid of it but couldn't :?

What I can do to get rid of this? I really need to study Java and all the others i like.

Please help anyone. This is really annoying :?

I guess it is quite normal. You feel sleepy since your eyes (so the brain) are getting tired faster when you read something on the screen for few minutes/hours.

eBooks are not the best. However it is cheaper and easier to find than a printed copy. So it is better if you could buy the most essential books and keep others as eBooks.

As an alternative, you can get those eBooks printed. I'm sure it will be better than reading it on screen.

Another suggestion is to find printed copies from a library, get photocopies and then bind them. This is quite popular in government universities. If you can find a friend in UoC or UoM, you can do that as well.

In that case, I think it is better if you could check your eyes. Meet an eye specialist and tell him about your problem and he will direct you to necessary tests probably starts from checking eye pressure which will reveal the underlying medical condition of your eyes. So meet a doctor without a delay.

The LCD and LED monitors are softy designed for your eyes. Now a software engineer can work till he die.
unlike in 1985 software developers they are retire after working 20 years due to this eye thing.

if not it's your psychology that rejects the book. It's sad but the truth. In other words you boring.
This is not initialized by confused ambiguous things that you skipped in the book.
you have to go back and read those. For a example when I learning "virtual" keyword at the first
time , I really get messy, and above that chapter they just use 'virtual' ,and when I found it
again and again , I felt discouraged, so
The solution is go back and read what you missed, don't try to read the whole chapter,it's useless
because you already read it.Try to find the word/phrase/concept that you can't touch further
and rewind you book to there, if still not clear then go to google, still not ask from a friend
to explain it from his own words.

Remember How much you could explain it well means how much well you understand it.
so be open for the knowledge with your friends. I even had a Tamil person ,and I'm a Sinhalese
and I really hate those Tamils, but when it comes to knowledge in university we are quite
open and not hesitate or fear about someone else [especially a Tamil in my case] know
my level of skills and understanding. So do the same thing with the book, if you feel you
don't know then you don't know it. Then you have to know it by using some information
source[book,internet,friend/person[I never and will never accept Tamils as
friends,he is a person for me! etc].
