ROBOT.LK

This started yesterday morning. I could not access robot.lk via my ADSL line and I thought that it might be some issue with the servers hosting robot.lk. Later at night, I got an email from another forum asking to complain SLT if having issues with accessing the forum. (And had asked to use a web proxy )

So , I tried accessing robot.lk via a web proxy and it worked.

Few minutes ago, I got a reply (luckily ) for the email I sent to the SLT regarding this issue. They had asked to change the DNS servers. I am quoting the reply here

Dear Customer,

This problem is beyond SLTNet control, But we SLTNet are discussing with relevant parties in global to resolve this issue.
Before that Please configure your ADSL connection manually with the following DNS servers.

203.115.0.46
203.115.0.47

I had the same issue but it is ok today

I've Started Using those DNSes after I got this DAMN ADSL Problem And I asked here and Our Hero Neo Told me to do it so I did It and I got some Little Improvements and Because of that I hadn't any Expertcore accessing Problem tomorrow.

Hey Friends What Are you thinking of this DAMN SLT Problem? Are they Doing this or is this Just an Error of something of them?

I mean Are they Limiting Us or Is this Just an Error?

It seems to be an international problem. Not with SLT. Local web servers and file servers are working fine.

SLT has only 8.6Gbps of international bandwidth. And shared among ??? users.

if you can't reach some sites, just means your ISP has bad dns servers which are overloaded or simply are not working

you can fix this issue very easy, but going into your ipv4 settings in your connection and change dns to use from some other company such as openNic and openDNS

even google provides dns ip, if you want to be safe i saw norton anti virus provide free beta DNS service to protect against those nasty virus popup sites

As Mysoogal stated, there are many free public DNS servers that are more convenient to use than ISP in terms of speed and security.

Have a look at Best free DNS Servers. Add more under that topic based on your experience so we can try them out.
