I sent him and Email.

I've called SLT twice yesterday But they didn't called Me again. I will call them today too

But today I can see My Speed Improved to 576kbps Download and 192kbps upload.

But only Numbers No Improvement same as Before.

I read somewhere that this is mostly due to recent SLT server crash(poor them. They seem to use windows even for servers. ). May be they have lost most configuration data. It will be corrected soon I hope.

TRC contacted me again. And Asked about the Problem.

They told me to Check downloading a file tomorrow at about 12AM and tell them the Speed.
And they also told me they informed to SLT and all the other Providers to Improve the Speed.

now i get 10KB/s and test at 12AM and then I will inform them the Speed.

And they also told me that they have some more Complaints about this too.

I think TRC will do something for this. Now We can Keep hopes on them because they are seem to Be working Now under the Government

TRC people are working very well on My Problem.

They checked using my User name and Password too.

But the Problem is they said they get around 45KB/s for the above file.

But I get only 12KB/s

They told me to give my info to a another area's friend to check with his ADSL Line.

TRC told me they are working on this to find out and what they can't clear is why i get god speed for some files and why no for others.

We can Count on TRC now they are working on this and they told me that have some more complaints about this too. And checking with a Colombo user's info and they got same result as mine with his info too.

And that Colombo user have Exactly my Problem.

Mr. Anusha Pelpita who is the Director General or TRC (Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka) is well knows to be a highly efficient, capable, intelligent and clean person. As you correctly stated, if everybody are like that, this country can become a developed nation soon.

I have the same problem as you since 12th November. Downloads from SLT & Microsoft works fine but not the other sites. Sites like facebook also slow.

I went to Regional Telecom Office Ratmalana last week & met a manager there. She told me I was identify as a heavy user & because of that they have reduced the limit. When I asked will it be reset at the next billing period, she said No. When i asked why is it called 'unlimited', she has no answer.

I'll be planing to complain this to TRC soon.

Also have you noticed the speed is normal from 1:30 am to 9:30am. After that the speed become slow again. Please check your speed during 1:30 am to 9:30am..

When the speed is slow, (9:30 am to 1:30 am next day) I even can't do speedtest.net test most of the times.
