We were experiencing some spam problems since the beginning of this year and you might have noticed that. The real reason for this was the spam protection system installed in our forum which is popularly known as reCAPTCHA was beaten recently.
Here are some news on this.

As a security measure, I have now added two conditions for newly registered users to submit links.
Min post count before posting external links: 10
Users will need this number of posts before they are able to use the [URL] BBCode tag or post external page urls and domain references.
Min days from registration before posting external links: 7
Users will need to have registered this many days before they are able to use the [URL] BBCode tag or post external page urls and domain references.
I guess this will work okay.

Re: Google CAPTCHA (reCAPTCHA) cracked
With this modification, spam bots must register, add 10 posts without links and also wait for 7 days to add a link
Quite hard isn't it?
Until that time, we have enough time to ban the user

Re: Google CAPTCHA (reCAPTCHA) cracked
Spam control is really successful with this modification. However I have adjusted these values as follows.
Min post count before posting external links: 2
Min days from registration before posting external links: 2
Praveen wasn't able to add some important links due to that.
