CWIS Close in Weapons System

Post by SemiconductorCat » Tue Aug 13, 2013 6:41 am

Hi all, Question again.
I have impressed by the close in weapon system which is implemented on war ships.
The problem is that they use some kind of fast fourier transformation to process the
signals coming form it's IR radar system. How that simply works. I have no clue how
does that fourier transformation related to here. Could somebody explain.

What kind of a computer processing is doing on there. How that related to navy wiring standards
and sensor networks. What kind of a bus is there?

[Please note that I just only have interest on those weapons, I highly discourage weapons,
but if I got any chance to get into a navel submarine and study it's system I would , but I've
keep my knowledge to myself, some engineers could sleep with the fact that "I've made
weapons of destruction, but for me it's difficult, but interest are same , just to open the box
and review the design and try to understand, same as reading the code].

Thanks in advance.
