I used almost every virus guard. Thunder Byte (I'm sure you have never heard of it
), Norman, Norton (then Symantec), McaFee, Kaspesky, Bit Defender, Avira!, Avast, AVG, CA, F-Secure, Panda, PC TOOLS, Sophos, Zone Alarm (Now they use Kaspersky virus detection engine) but my vote unanimously goes to worlds best
ESET Smart Security.
We can depend on
Virus Bulletin review on virus guards. If you become registered member there, go to VB100 -> recent test summary. You'll see the most stable virus guard product on different platforms.

See
ESET Antivirus. You'll love this light weight and smart antivirus.
One other thing I love on ESET is their light weight background scanning technology. It never slowed down my system that the most I hate.

ClamWin is the only free anti-virus I know. I neither used it nor heard of someone using it.

I use Avast Pro You can download it via a Torrent. But it's illegal If you don't like to use Avast Pro you can download Avast Home Version for free.
You said you don't have internet. It's ok you can download update file for avast from their home page and you all have to do run the update.exe file. then you will get a message that avast has been updated.
Thanks

AVG free can also be a good option. I used it several years ago.
