DVI-D/HDCP is inter-portable with HDMI. If it was just DVI-D or I, then we would definitely avoid it. There is no argument, if it is HDMI then there is no problem to discuss here. However since there isn't, it seems you have no other alternative.

1. Have you checked what are the HDMI models they can supply you? Just call their Colombo head-office. It could be the guys at your branch who have no idea of the models or pushing an over stocked product on you.
2. Have you checked the available Samsung models in Unity Plaza? What are the models they have with HDMI and DVI-D/HDCP with respect to prices?
   For example at Barclays:
   Samsung Bx2231 21.5" (LKR 22500)
   Samsung 21.5''' S22A350H <- Ohhh man, have you seen this? This is what I have seen as having 2ms response time + HDMI at Samsung site (LKR 21850)

Another thing for Nipuna to ask when you call them. Since you have a VGA card with VGA output, check whether the monitor comes with a converter cable that does the conversion or you have to separately buy a converter.

Based on the information, we could weight Singer service + your travelling cost (I know you are lazy to travel ) + feature differences and take a final decision. If you can buy a product that has lower response time + HDMI for the same price or for a difference of LKR 1000 (Or even less from Unity Plaza with a 3 year warranty from the agent), then it could be a waste of money. When you call Unity Plaza, you can ask them whose warranty they are giving for the product.

Since Samsung Bx2231 And Samsung Ex2220x are Archived. I am Thinking to buy S22a35oh from Unity Plaza(According to you Bx2231 is Archived and According to Singer Guy it's Old).

Is S22a35oh better than Bx2231 Neo? Because S22a35oh is less Expensive than Bx2231.

It will be great if they give distributor's warranty for monitors. As far as I know, they have given an in-house warranty for the monitor that my friend bought. I haven't come across any situation where Barclays refused any warranty claim. They even replaced one of my motherboards which was randomly freezing upon boot under warranty(It was hard to reproduce the problem). I am not saying that they their service is perfect. But it is better than the rest.

If you go to Barclays, go to their head office. It is situated near the unity plaza, towards wellawatte.

And, remember, when you are dealing with things, there is always a risk. You should also learn how to manage that risk.
Just go to unity plaza and have a little talk with the people around (Will also help you to be more charismatic ). Deraniyagala is not so far away from Colombo.

Earlier I was looking at the Singapore site of Samsung.

I accidentally found the American site. Here are the results.

Both 2ms response time.

So there is a bit of a confusion there. According to the American site, BX2231 is 22" (not 21.5") and supports almost all types of video inputs.

It seems like you need to come to Colombo and dedicate a whole day to understand the models and features. At least verify what they have out of above products.

What's the price difference between both units?
