What is that HP symbol ?

Post by SemiconductorCat » Wed Sep 17, 2014 4:51 am

Hi all, what is that HP symbol which is highlighted in yellow ?

And the second question is about middle highlighted area.
Is that configuration is for noise and echo cancellation ? So you could program that using AC97 interface right ?

And there are no connection to analog selection muxes from the control interface. Is these kind of mistakes are normal
in datasheets normally , which I need to assume that they are connected ?

And this chip is around 2.28$ in digi key. Any cheap AC'97 compatible devices ?
Any suggestions ? I don't need super features like high sampling rates, echo cancellation just need to digitize some sound and connect it to a linux SBC.

HP stands for a high pass filter.

I think that's related to delta-sigma conversion. Read on that.

This is the functional block diagram, so it can omit certain details on the block diagram for clarity on the functions.

I'n not much aware on prices of CODECs. But you might have a look at http://www.ti.com/product/tlv320aic33
