question. So I decided to answer it here.

Alternative Answer.
No you don't need any portable power source here. You could use a rotary transformer here if you seriously need to transfer between rotating part and a stator part.
If you could find a old VCR, you could hack it and make your application top of it. But I don't know what you originally
designing. I could only hope this may helpful.
