D Link DSL 2750U Wireless ADSL2 Modem Router issue

Post by kodi » Tue Oct 04, 2011 10:22 pm

My D Link DSL 2750U Wireless ADSL2 Modem Router is not recognized by the setup wizard. But I can access the router through the IP address 192.168.1.1. The settings in that interface is bit complexed and there is no quick setup guide other than the previously mentioned wizard(which won't recognize the router). Can some one help me with the settings. I might be able to enter them manually but the interface is very complexed

This is a rather new router and I can't find a help anywhere in the web :(

Check whether your network card is configured to work as a DHCP client.

If that doesn't help, then I suggest you to manually configure your router. You will have to put some effort on the first try but once you got to know it, it will be quite easier.

You will have to do following settings in particular.
WAN
VPI: 8
VCI: 35
WAN Setting: PPPoE/PPPoA
Username: Your ADSL username
Password: Your ADSL password
Connection type: PPPoE LLC
Keep most of the other settings default

DHCP
Make sure it is enabled (Otherwise you will have to do more settings)

When I'm using this router (one i'm using now to post this) it works fine. So I don't think that there is something wrong with the network card. It is also configured according to the above image (DHCP).

When I connected the router Windows (I'm using windows 7) identified the network and ask me to select the home group settings also.

Thanks for the reply Saman
