PCB Sri Lanka

Post by TRONICLK » Sat May 19, 2012 10:27 am

TRONIC.LK provides high quality PCB and PCBA services to Sri Lankan clients. We have an agreement signed with a professional PCB manufacturing factory in China. Please consider following points when you need to make a PCB.

1. General figures
Number of layers: It could be single, dual or multilayer. The more layers you have, the more expensive the manufacturing cost.
PCB thickness: It could be 1.2mm, 1.6mm to siy your requirement. Flex PCBs are also available.
Copper density: Could be 1oz or 2oz. If you are drawing more power, 2oz is recommended. For general applications, 1oz is enough.
Finish: HaSL - Hot-air solder levelling. This is very important as it makes soldering easier.
PCB Colour: It could be green, blue, red, black, white, etc... your choice.

2. Production quantity
More quantity -> less manufacturing cost + More weight (more courier charges)

3. Panelling with v-cut. Most of the PCB designing tools (we use Altium) supports panelling. This can reduce manufacturing costs, however it involves bit of work. Please read more on that.

Some more points to consider...

Since mass-production employs a risk than prototyping, the prices vary only based on following options.
1. Require electronic circuit designing (No, Yes)
2. Require PCB Layout designing (No, Yes)
3. Require PCB board size optimisation (Yes, No) - Optional (If we design the layout, this is included)
4. Number of layers (Single, Dual, Multilayer - N)
5. Silk screen (No, Only on top, on both sides)
6. Solder mask (No, Only on bottom, on both sides)
7. Drilling (No, Yes) - We need the drill file (g-code)
8. Through hole connection (No, Plating, Soldering) - On dual or multilayer only
9. Need components (No, Yes, Partial)
10. Assembly (soldering) (No, Yes, Partial) - This is good if you have SMD components on the board
11. Testing (No, Yes)
12. Firmware development (Yes, No)
