I am currently using blender 2.49a Which would probley be best for these tutorials being some of the hotkeys might have changed.

blender is based on python :mrgreen: which is pretty cool there is also a blender game engine which you can create your own games.

I've tried once to learn it but kinda difficult because there are many things you need to do just to create some shape, i think zbrush is much better http://www.pixologic.com/home.php
