problem with output of symbols uring PHP & MYsql

I've some data in a mysql table witch contains many symbols (they belongs to a sinhala font). I can see them via phpmyadmin. but when I used them with php, only see boxes.

Please help me to resolve.

If you are using a specific font, it needs to be installed on client's end to see. Otherwise you'll get so called boxes like symbols for unknown fonts in your browser. What I can tell you for now is to use a UNICODE font. Or else, you will have to ask your users to download the font to see your contents.

The font is alredy installed.

my problem is boxes, not symbols.

symbols can see using phpMyAdmin, but can't see from php output.

It is surely a font problem. Have you tried seeing the HTML source of the php output?

No, it isn't a font problem. I tried using html font face tag also. html source too has boxes.

it can be a header problem.

Something out of topic: Until the results are coming, how if you do a good computer diploma such as NIBM diploma. I didn't do that myself but I know few good guys who are doing very well in the industry. That diploma covers almost all theoretical aspects in software engineering. Since you love the field, I'm sure something like that is essential to start your career.

1. At this moment i can't connect from pc, so i'll paste it later. ( ET balance is empty & mobitel has the most bad service in Lanka)

2. there are only 1-2months for exam results & I think i'll have to do exam again because of chema. also I can't pay those cource prices at this time.
