Hutch 3G Review

Post by Rksk » Tue Sep 11, 2012 11:51 pm

Today I got a Hutch sim card, it's a prepaid one and price was Rs198. It offered 1GB free for one month.
I'm very happy with their speed. Only hutch gave us 3G coverage till now.
Also their midnight package is very useful for heavy dowbloaders. It offers 2GB for Rs75 during 12.00AM - 6.00AM.

Find more details from www.hutch.lk

Yes, I got it. (And I just got a Dongle from a friend :D )
Also I'm willing to build an antenna for it to increase signal strength . I'll post it here, if it got success.

Oh, There is no any happy with HUTCH anymore. They just served me 2-3days. Now I'm getting extra high speed (0-5kbps) with 3G.

They have known problems and they are unable to resolve them. We reported them. but they don't resolve, just excuse.

01. Error: Requested content 'www.google.com' cannot be resolved.
This comes some time when opening a webpage.

02. When we open a webpage it just redirect to wap.hutch.lk and show their ads.

03. I think they haven't a their own international connection for internet. They just buy traffic from SLT or/and LankaCom.

Very bad service. I'm going back to my old internet life with Mobitel and Etisalat 2G.

A week after reporting them the issue, they called back me today and asked some details. But now my signal strength is increased from 20% to 50% and now I'm getting some speed, but not as before. I think they will resolve it, but not soon.

I think i picked up the same prepaid data package today. 198Rs for 1GB, cheaper than paying Rs. 260 something to mobitel for the same (plus 200sms, 90min M2M talk time-which is too much for me). SIM is free of charge. So, hell I bought it. :D

But I can not seem to activate the data package. There is 198.43 LKR in the account and some bonus money. (wow  )

3G coverage is non-existent (<20%) near the university where mobitel has >90% 3G signal level.

But hey, could you help me to figure out how to activate the data package. I hope that I won't have to run to the nearest communication store and reload 198. oh please, if that is the case, I am just going to disintegrate the SIM after using the money on it.

now, gotta switch back to mobitel.
Sorry for lousy structuring and formatting.

Just dial *131#, you can find all pre-paid packages.
