Windows Device Drivers on Ubuntu
Re: Windows Device Drivers on Ubuntu
ndisgtk seems an easy to use graphical user interface for ndiswrapper. Read http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-794501.html. Installation instruction at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiD ... diswrapper. Lets hope few of our members can give you a better explanation.

Re: Windows Device Drivers on Ubuntu
ndiswrapper is suitable only for NICs - especially wireless cards. I don't understand your question. Please be more specific when posting questions. It would be easier for others when replying.

Re: Windows Device Drivers on Ubuntu
As Nepster clearly stated, you should always be specific on the problem. For example, installing usb adsl modem drivers under Ubuntu or something
Again, trying to see Ubuntu (including other NIX OSs) in the angle of Windows is bit of a foolish things. Windows is well famous for its user friendliness (but not as friendly as more expensive Mac OS I think). This is why almost all non-programmers are using Windows.
And NIX in the other hand, are famous for features, flexibility and developer friendliness (GUIs are lot more improved and almost in parallel to world standards now). In simple terms, if you don't know programming (or at least commands) under Linux type OSs and you don't see any interest in learning those to do something your own, you don't belong to NIX family in my point of view.
Finally, Nepster as our NIX expert (who is a professional programmer and a hardcore Linux kernel developer) has stated that there isn't any solution available in the WORLD for this problem so far. Otherwise you program something your own (may be with editing driver files, etc...) it is a complete time waste for all of us on trying to solve this problem in scenario where the manufacturer is even silent. Even without the same modem connected, it is not possible to give a quick try. In the other hand, I'm sure no one can spend many hours for doing coding for someone else for free. So please stop this ProLink USB ADSL modem driver installation problem under Ubuntu or any related topics to USB ADSL here. As stated before try to go under Ubuntu and ProLink forums if you still think this is possible.
