,I have a 5.1 sub.but,i can't get 5.1 out.because the soruse(music file) is stereo.someone say how to get stereo out put by all s,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
With a 5.1, when you play a stereo file, your sound card must manage to handle that... However if it is not, then you can transcode the file to be 5.1 (but you won't get the 5.1 quality) or you might try a good playback software (Start with Winamp) to see whether it works.
Thanx Neo
your idea is good.
i will try with Winamp.
but,My friend sayed me,that can do from another way.
i think,it is small system.
he sayed it can do from using 4 small speaker and using bass speaker(like 2.1.).according to that 2 speaker have 1 Chanel.without change sound card or subwofer system.
I'm a bit confused on this. Have you plugged your 5.1 system to the digital output of the sound card? These days, almost all new motherboards come with both Digital AND Analogue in-built. A good 5.1 such as Creative needs Digital. I guess you have correctly connected your system. Otherwise you won't be able to listen anything.
However you said the sound file(MP3 or WMA) you have is a stereo one. This doesn't matter as Neo said since your sound card should be able to synthesis it to 5.1. In the other hand your 5.1 will also do some audio processing to separate out sound to each output based on dB level. I agree both these operation would not give you the quality of a real 6-channel file. But you must be able to listen something from all your speakers. If you are playing a 5.1 film with a car going form left to right, you will get the same feeling with sound as it plays from left to right. You will never get this with a stereo file.
Can you first tell us what's the input type of 5.1 and is your sound card having a Digital out? Make sure you refer the manuals to identify the type. If these things are there then as Neo stated, you might use some good players such as WinAmp, JetAudio, etc...
