Heat seeking and Night vision specs or Hologram Projector
Re: Heat seeking and Night vision specs or Hologram Projector
hey NEO any comments on this link ?? http://www.archonmagnus.com/mods/nightVisionCam/nvc.php ???
Re: Heat seeking and Night vision specs or Hologram Projector
That's fine for the first step. When you find the right IR LEDs, you can move to the next step to make the vision system using a camera, LCD and a microcontroller.
Re: Heat seeking and Night vision specs or Hologram Projector
hey,
haven't you seen a working IR-remote controll via a digital camera?
I think above trick will work for you project. 1st don't break a camera, just light some IR-LEDs and try to see a dark place with a digital camera (the camera of a mobile phone will work).
if you can replace the flash LED of a mobile phone camera with a IR-LED, your phone will has a night vision camera
le phone will work).

hmmm I've been searching and i found this too

my problem is this , can we see the illumination of the high intensity LEDs with the naked eye ??? if so then it'd be nothing more than a torch . am i right ? .... and the other thing ... If i follow the instructions on this video or the one before will i be able to make an actual night vision goggle ??? Im planning to take the output that i get from the web cam (according to the 1st link) and give that to a small LCD screen , any instructions on that ?

so if this is the basic method of Night Vision , whats the difference between this and the one they use in military operations ??

High intensity IR LED light can't be seen by naked eyes. You will only see them with filters that are added to the glasses.my problem is this , can we see the illumination of the high intensity LEDs with the naked eye ??? if so then it'd be nothing more than a torch . am i right ?
I have given you a link that explains the methods in making night vision. Here it is again http://www.hownightvisionworks.com/. According to this, we have 3 methods..... and the other thing ... If i follow the instructions on this video or the one before will i be able to make an actual night vision goggle ???
- Low-Light Imaging
- Image intensifiers
- On-chip gain multiplication cameras
- Thermal Imaging
- Cooled-detector infrared cameras
- Uncooled-detector infrared cameras
- Near Infrared Illumination
- IR illumination
According to my knowledge, there isn't any ready-made product to divert images that are coming from a webcam (USB) to a LCD. You will have to design a circuit for this. If you are going to do that, then no point in using a USB webcam. You can directly use a I2C cam which can directly interface to a microcontroller such as below two products.Im planning to take the output that i get from the web cam (according to the 1st link) and give that to a small LCD screen , any instructions on that ?
CMOS Camera - 1300x1040
CMOS Camera - 640x480
I'm not a military expert. But according to my brief knowledge, they use Thermal Imaging. Some of the advantages are listed below (taken from above link).so if this is the basic method of Night Vision , whats the difference between this and the one they use in military operations ??
- Able to detect people and vehicles at great distances
- Not affected by bright light sources
- Able to perform high speed infrared imaging
- Able to perform multi-spectral infrared imaging
- High contrast in most night-time scenarios
- Easily detects people and vehicles
Re: Heat seeking and Night vision specs or Hologram Projector
I read the whole page , to what i understood "On-chip Gain Multiplication Cameras" and "Cooled-detector infrared cameras" are comparatively hard to make domestically , so how about this , i get a "CMOS Camera - 640x480" fix some IR LEDs around it , give the out put to a LCD display ..... , this should make a primary level goggle , but to my knowledge IR LEDs are short ranged , is there any type ling range IR emtting devices ??? lazers maybe ???
Re: Heat seeking and Night vision specs or Hologram Projector
hehehe can you specify the range power of those IR LEDs , according to these guys its pretty impressive http://www.2bsecurity.com/ir-illuminators.html but high power always comes with a high price tag ....can you find the prices ?? I mailed these guys right now asking for the prices ..... hope they reply soon

Re: Heat seeking and Night vision specs or Hologram Projector
No idea on the price since that is a ready made product. Have a look at this link. http://www.gizmology.net/infrared.htm. It has some information about ratings.
Re: Heat seeking and Night vision specs or Hologram Projector
ok I'll look into that
and i just got off the phone with organizers , they gave me a number of a PCB designer , i just want to get this clear , his task is to make a circuit board that would connect the camera and the display right ???? and btw he ask me to asked you what kind of an out put does the 12C give ??? AV orrr???? if you'd get back to me on this to me it'd be great , he waiting at the other end of the phone
