Good Solution from Microcontroller Restart Problem .......

Post by Magneto » Thu Apr 29, 2010 3:52 pm

You have experinecd in lots of time , that microcontrollers are getting restart or stuck time to time. This condition can
see , specially in industrial environments. Because there are lots of noises adding to the MCU power supply in such environments basically due to electro magnetic interferences.

Now Texas Instruments has introduced a new DC-DC converter IC for eliminate this kind of problems , which occur due
to electrical noises. That is TPS 5420 DC to DC Converter.. The important point in the IC is , it takes the feed back from the output voltage and always correct , the output voltage ,if there is some difference with reference voltage.
So in this way even though some electric noise add to the output side , they will eliminate immediately by the feed forward control system. And there is no any effect from the electrical noises which occur in input side to the output.
And also this IC has over voltage and over current protection.

This is not much price and for the Sri Lankans , this IC could order through Farnel. Here with I am attaching the datasheet
of this IC.
