You can't test the ports with the cable provided by us. You will need to have a loopback adapter, DB9 <-> DB9 cable or a oscilloscope to check the port.

To make either a loopback adapter or a DB9 cable, you'll need one or two female DB9 ports. (I suspect you don't have them with you?).

For now, check the properties of your COM port with the the following image and let me know.

Port settings are fine. Can you download TeamViewer, install and let me have the username and password.

Dear Friend ,

if you have some problem with serial port , there is a easy way to test the serial port.

Open the hyper terminal program in Windows ( Accessories -> Communication -> Hyper Terminal) with default
settings. Plug the serial cable , to the respective serial port , you select for hyper terminal.

Short the Pin 2 and Pin 3 , by using a flat screw driver or using a small wire.

Then Type some thing on the hyper terminal window. If you can see , what you type in the hyper terminal window,
that mean your serial port in PC is OK. if not , it has some problem.

Dear Friend ,

According your pin diagram in serial port , it seems , either your pin diagram wrong or serial cable is incorrect.
As those are standard serial cables in the market , most probably the diagram could be wrong.
I am sure what view you have drawn of your male and femal ports. Always draw the TOP view of Connectors ,
as that is the standard way of drawing electrical connectors.

This is the way you can check whether your serial cable is ok.

You should see pin numbers from 1 to 9 , in both male and female serial ports. Then hold the both male and
female ports symmetric manner as shown in the below diagram.

Then try to insert Female port into Male Port. Then male port Pin 1 should go into female port pin 1.
male port Pin 2 should go into female port pin 2 .....etc.... If this is ok , cable is fine.

As I mention in the last post , plug the serial cable female port into male COM port of the PC. Then short circuit
the Pin 2 and Pin 3 of male port of the serial cable , by using a flat screw driver. Then type some thing on
the windows hyper terminal. If the port is ok , you should see what you are typing in the hyper terminal window.
( Please make sure to apply default settings , when configuring the hyperterminal )

If all those ok , try to erase the PIC , by pressing "Erase All" in WinPic800. You should see , red LED blinking in
programmer.

Please give us a feed back about the situation , after doing above tests.

Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!!

in this way it shows my serial port is not working.
I can't see , any thing in the hyper terminal window except the cursor when I type some thing.

I have done a wrong , there is the correct one

All the pins are working as above.

Is there any other way to use JDM programmer without serial port????

I had a long discussion with Magneto this morning and he was firm that the cable you use is fine and it is just a confusion in numbering. If you haven't use the serial ports for any experiment before I'm quite sure the ports are working.

So we need to focus 100% on testing the serial port.
What you have to do is, short the pins 2 and 3 on the male side of the serial cable and then plug it to your COM port. Open Hyper Terminal, Select COM1 with the settings I sent you yesterday, press connect and type something from your keyboard.

To be sure, send us a photo of the male port of your serial cable with a wire shorting pins 2 and 3.

If this is not working, we need you to install TeamViewer and send us the login information so that we can login to your compute and see the problem.

Dear Friend ,

You have shorted Pin 3 and Pin 4. You have to shorted Pin 2 and Pin 3. You can see pin numbers in the port with
small letters. Please see those and select the correct pins.

Short the two pins , which are in black border box in below diagram.
