Connectng a SD Card to DSP

Post by Max » Wed Jul 22, 2009 10:10 pm

Hi,

What's the best way to connect a SD card to a DSP?
I know there are two methods but I couldn't decide what's the best with fewer electronics.
(What are the pros and cons basically?)

Thanks in advance,

Max

Hi friend ,

There are two methods to speak to SD card from a DSP or from a microcontroller. they are SD mode and SPI mode.
There are two seperate protocoals for both methods. SD mode use 9 pins for communication and SPI mode use only 7.
SD is mode communiation is more fast , but SPI mode is easy implement.

Both the communication protocaols are describe in SD documentation and make sure to see the latest SD documentation
