What are LED TVs ?

Post by Neo » Fri Dec 24, 2010 3:50 pm

Before I read about it in the internet, I was told by a marketing assistant that LED TVs are made out of tiny LEDs that can blink in many colours. But the truth is LED TVs are another kind of LCD TVs with the backlights made out of LEDs instead of florescent bulbs. In simple terms, LED TV is a LCD TV with LED backlights.

Hi guys... There is something I learned from a friend of mine today after several arguments about LED TVs. There are true LED TVs with OLED (also AMOLED) technologies.

So if you see a TV branded as LED TV, don't forget to ask whether it is backlit-LED LCD TV, OLED TV or AMOLED TV.
